Chapter 9, Inflatable Dolls

Dark Small Medium Large Original Scroll to Bottom

Hai Momo lifted her cup, and the aroma of milk powder wafted up with the rising steam. She gazed for a moment, then gently leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Tang Ao's cheek. Su Qian was utterly astonished, feeling a chill run down her spine—she could not believe that this was something Tang Ao could do! Was President Tang possessed?

Beside her, Su Qian turned over, having endured for a long time, and then burst into laughter with a snort.

Young Master Tang is more anxious than her, isn't he? At this moment, he can only respond with a comforting expression—once Hai Momo falls asleep, she will surely be in a deep slumber. At that time, with the moon dark and the wind high, hmph, wouldn't Su Qian beside him have to let him mold her as he pleases?

Moreover, he even keeps someone like Hai Momo, who is neither edible nor visually appealing. At least Su Qian can be 'eaten' and looked at, right? It would be good to keep her around for some amusement

In the first half of the night, Tang Ao and Su Qian were both unable to fall asleep. Hai Momo seemed to be unaccustomed to having an extra person in bed and took a long time to settle down. Although Tang Ao was anxious, he understood that children needed to be coaxed. He held Hai Momo in his arms, gently patting her back. It was not until 1:00 AM that she finally dozed off and fell asleep

He returned to the room and quickly took an iron basin to cover the zombie's head, then tapped the zombie's head through the basin. Surprisingly, the zombie did not become overly agitated. Its murky eyes looked towards Hai Momo, and it seemed to be genuinely communicating with her

Young Master Tang had been abstinent for a long time, and after much difficulty, he finally acquired some inflatable dolls, which had long stirred his blood and ignited his passions. He went upstairs with Su Qian, only to discover a rather cruel problem—there was only one bed. The three of them lay down on the bed, which was a double bed but not very spacious. While it was warm for three people to squeeze together, any slight movement would undoubtedly be noticed by the other person.

What a mischievous child! Young Master Tang San took several deep breaths, chuckled, and rolled off Su Qian's body: "Dad feels a bit hot... um, your Aunt Su is cooler, so..."

Su Qian certainly understands: "It's cold, just look at their hands... so icy. It's getting late, let's go to sleep."

Su Qian grasped the cuff of his suit, looking at him with deep affection. "Everyone misses you; you have always been the pillar of Asa, the true soul of Asa. If you were here, you certainly would not have made such an inhumane decision. Fortunately, I have met you again; you are truly my benefactor. Will you take me in, General Tang?"

She stood in front of Tang Ao, who picked her up and kissed her on the cheek: "Let Daddy see, is the princess behaving well at home?"

Tang Ao noncommittally hummed, scanning the surroundings while driving. Indeed, there was no other food available; these stores had all been looted in various ways. It would not be long before baby formula would be next.

So is Laozi just enjoying the cool breeze

Hai Momo's eyes were like water apricots, reflecting his shadow in her clear gaze. Before she could speak, Tang Ao slowly leaned closer to her, his lips warm against her forehead: "From now on, we will rely on each other for life."

Tang Ao focused on driving, maneuvering around several zombies that were having a meal: "Why? There is enough food inside"

Tang Ao carefully observed its expression; that face was so decayed that it seemed the facial nerves had long ceased to function, leaving him with nothing. Hai Momo quickly negotiated on his behalf: "It wants a hat."

However, President Tang had his reasons for capturing it: "Momo, ask Dad if there is any market demand for zombies... Hmm, for example, helmets that are explosion-proof. Does it understand helmets?"

He stopped in front of a maternity and baby store, gripping an axe as he rushed inside, with Su Qian anxiously following behind him. Inside, there were two zombies, one of which had already lost an arm. The other had its neck gnawed at an odd angle.

Tang Ao leaned down to look and saw a woman with disheveled hair. He had no intention of opening the door at all. The woman also saw him, paused for a moment, and suddenly shouted in a hoarse voice: "Asa!"

Tang Aomei raised her eyebrows slightly and secretly cursed the little vixen. When he was locked outside by Jiang Hongfu and others, Su Qian and the others were all present, of course, they did not show themselves. At that time, she did not say a single good word about him, yet now she comes to the library to make amends.

Tang Ao did not hesitate to kill, and then loaded all the milk powder onto the truck. Su Qian looked confused and asked, "Mr. Tang, do you have children?"

Tang Ao would certainly not miss the opportunity to take advantage, seizing her hand while she was putting on her clothes: "Are you cold?"

Su Qian held her head with both hands and after a while finally spoke: "Asa, Jiang Hongfu and Zhou Xinguo have not been distributing food rations for women and children these past few days, and the women are protesting"

Su Qian shook her head: "But no one knows how long this virus will last"

Hai Momo leaned against him, and he gently patted her back: "Come, Momo, help Daddy listen to what this zombie is saying."

Tang Ao nodded: "Let it bring ten catties of grain to exchange here. Does it understand grain and measurement units?"

She glanced at Tang Ao, who showed no intention of explaining at all and directly opened the car door to move things. Hai Momo only prepared two servings of food. It was still stir-fried bacon with wild vegetables and a bowl of stir-fried winter melon—she had discovered a large winter melon behind the house.

He brought Haimaomo in front of the zombie, which had a pebble stuffed in its mouth. He took the stone out, and the zombie immediately let out a loud howl. Haimaomo looked at the zombie, then at Tang Ao: "Dad, do you really want to listen?" Tang Ao nodded slightly, and Haimaomo suppressed a laugh, "It says it wants to slap its size 30 shoes on your size 42 face"

Hai Momo conversed with the zombie for a while and was about to loosen the ropes binding it. Tang Ao remained somewhat vigilant, standing in front of Hai Momo with an axe in hand. The zombie moved its limbs slightly, grunted a couple of times, and surprisingly walked away.

It opened its mouth wide and kept roaring with a series of "ah" sounds. Tang Ao simply stuffed a pebble into its mouth.

Tang Ao nodded knowingly, the awareness of crisis has existed since ancient times

Su Qian nodded and then leaned against him: "Fortunately, I met you"

Tang Ao asked Su Qian to stir-fry some rapeseed flowers, and Hai Momo wanted to help. He pulled Hai Momo to sit down at the table, prepared a cup of milk powder he had found for her, and handed her a pair of chopsticks, saying: "Eat your meal"

Although he thought this way about the book, Tang Ao did not say it. He was now different from Jiang Hongfu and the others; Jiang Hongfu and the others were afraid because they still had a chance to survive, and there was a significant possibility that they would make it to the end. However, for Tang Ao, having one more person or one less person made no difference—he was already equivalent to having nothing at all.

Tang Ao opened the car door, and Su Qian got in. She was wearing a tight blue outfit, her chest as ample as ever, but her expression was truly disheveled

She picked up a bottle of water from the car and took a sip, her chest heaving violently. Tang Ao had collided with two zombies; recently, upon coming out, he saw many elderly people and children. Although he would not intervene, he still asked, "What are you doing here?"

Is this really his daughter? Or has he become so desperate that he will accept anything?

President Tang is at a loss for words; it seems this zombie has been howling and whining here all morning, cursing him, right

Su Qian was filled with confusion, yet she did not dare to go against Tang Ao's wishes, so she hurried to prepare the meal. Wang Wang circled around her feet, wearing an expression as if he had discovered explosives. Su Qian was extremely frightened

Young Master Tang San and Su Qian quietly held each other's hands, their fingertips tracing patterns in each other's palms. Su Qian looked at Hai Momo and spoke to her gently. Hai Momo never responded, not answering any questions. Su Qian was completely unbothered, merely exchanging glances with Young Master Tang San.

Tang Ao picked up Hai Momo again, tossed her lightly, which caused her to let out another startled scream. Tang Ao laughed heartily and then reached out, firmly catching her.

Hai Momo was taken by surprise, startled by him. Tang Ao lifted her into the air, gently tossed her, and then caught her again, making Hai Momo giggle uncontrollably. He then held her in his arms, carefully examining her, with a slight smile at the corner of his lips: "Our Momo is truly beautiful."

Su Qian was utterly dumbfounded—this, this, this, this is Asa, right? Could it be that his brain has been eaten by zombies? That General Tang, who would rather stay ten meters away from children, when did he become so "kindly"?

Tang Ao was taken aback; Asa was his English name. The woman brushed her hair back, revealing her face and the book: "It's me, I am Su Qian!"

As the sky gradually darkened, Su Qian shivered from the cold. Tang Ao tossed her his thick coat. She quickly accepted it and put it on, smiling with a blend of softness and charm: "Thank you"

Indeed, there were two zombies wandering on the road. Out of caution, Tang Ao killed one and bound the other with nylon rope, dragging it back to the small shop and tying it to a redwood tree by the Bailu River. The zombie, of course, was very angry; who would be in a good mood after being captured like that early in the morning

President Tang is in a very good mood: "Of course"

Su Qian smiled awkwardly for a moment, then entered the room. Looking at the dishes on the table, she couldn't help but swallow; during the past few days of wandering outside, she had only consumed two boxes of expired milk.

Today's harvest is truly meager, consisting only of a small amount of milk powder and an inflatable doll. Tang Ao was somewhat dissatisfied on the way back, but there was nothing he could do. As they approached the small shop, he thought for a moment, parked the car in the suburbs, and let Su Qian get out to pick a handful of rapeseed flowers

Tang Ao nodded. Su Qian is a fitness instructor at the Asa Living Garden Fitness Club, and of course, she is not just a fitness instructor. Sometimes, while working out, the time would slip away, and General Manager Tang would also drive Su Qian home, or Su Qian would drive him home, and so on

He tied up the zombies and turned to see Hai Momo standing at the entrance of the small shop. Tang Ao's gaze was surprisingly gentle: "Why are you out? If you're sick, you should sleep a little longer"

As soon as she fell asleep, Su Qian couldn't wait to pounce on Tang Ao. Tang Ao, feeling quite ruthless, gently released Hai Momo, then turned over and tackled Su Qian, one hand tugging at her clothes while the other unfastened his pants, preparing to get straight to the point

Hai Momo glanced at Su Qian, and Tang Ao then said lightly: "Call her Aunt Su." Hai Momo remained silent, and Tang Ao did not press the issue— in his eyes, Su Qian's status was not much higher than Wang Wang's.

Hai Momo shook her head; she was indeed fully recovered. Seeing her complexion return to normal, Tang Ao stepped forward and immediately picked her up in his arms, saying: "Hmm, let me see if my little princess is really better!"

Hmph

He makes breakfast very simply, with a bowl of noodles containing two eggs. The small shop, in order to allow tourists to experience the effect of the hermits from that year, also prepared raincoats. Tang Ao casually took one and draped it over himself, then found a sturdy nylon rope before walking onto the road

Just as they were about to become one, he suddenly felt a pair of soft little hands on his back

Su Qian has never asked for a word of affection—she would never be foolish enough to discuss charity with Tang Ao, who is the charity ambassador of City E

In the afternoon, the weather finally cleared up, although the lawn was still somewhat wet. Tang Ao drove out, intending to find some nutritional products such as milk powder and cream. There were still no large concentrations of zombies in the city, and as his car stopped at a gas station, suddenly a person rushed over and began to bang on his car.

Hai Momo wrapped her arms around his neck and also kissed him on the cheek

In his lifetime, Tang Ao has appeared in magazines and participated in interviews, stretched his legs in the People's Hall, and spoken at university lectures. He has told countless lies, but this one is undoubtedly the most logical of them all

The next day, the rain had not stopped. Hai Momo was sleeping soundly, and Tang Ao did not wake her up, choosing to go downstairs by himself. Wang Wang was already waiting at the door, scratching at it to indicate that it wanted to go out. Tang Ao opened the door, and it wagged its tail as it ran outside to relieve itself. While preparing breakfast, Tang Ao pondered other matters; perhaps he could catch a few zombies to try out

Hai Momo conveyed to the zombie that the one tied to the tree surprisingly quieted down. After humming and discussing for quite a while, Hai Momo finally relayed back: "It asked if the helmet can really prevent head explosions"

President Tang turned around and saw Hai Momo with a drowsy expression: "Daddy." She glanced at Tang Ao and then at Su Qian beneath him, and after a long pause finally asked, "Why aren't you wearing clothes?"

Returning to the small shop, Wang Wang immediately ran out, with Hai Momo closely following behind. Su Qian furrowed her brows—Tang Ao actually raised a little girl?

Tang Ao raised his eyebrows slightly: "So he drove out all the old people and women?"

Tang Ao turned for a while longer when an elderly man knocked on the car door seeking help. He truly looked down upon it—Su Qian could still be used for some amusement, but what could the elderly man do with it? Keep it as a pet?
